At approximately 05:45 AM on July 1, 1965, lavender farmer Maurice Masse observed an unusual, oval- or rugby-ball-shaped craft resting in his field on a heavy central pivot stabilized by six secondary support legs. Standing directly in front of the craft were two small humanoid figures. As Masse approached within seven meters, one of the figures noticed his presence, pointed a small, cylindrical tube- or pencil-like device toward him, and immediately paralyzed him.
